If you have Ash trees on your property you should have them inspected yearly to make sure they are borer free. The State of Illinois in 100% infected with Emerald Ash Borer, meaning that all counties are affected. Villages are now marking trees on private property and requiring HOMEOWNERS to take them down to prevent the spread of the borer.
Stumps DO NOT need to be ground to 12inches deep.
Many Landscape companies are now requesting that Tree Companies grind their clients stumps to 12 in deep. This is not needed. Industry standards state stumps be ground 5-7 inches. There should be no planting except for grass seed or small plants in the area for up to a year.
